Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon water (if needed)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Dip chicken pieces into beaten eggs, then coat with cornstarch.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry chicken in batches for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  5. Transfer cooked chicken to paper towels.
  6. In a saucepan, combine blackberries, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes.
  7. Cook for 5–7 minutes until berries soften.
  8. Mash berries slightly and stir in cornstarch slurry.
  9. Cook 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  10. Add water if sauce is too thick.
  11. Toss crispy chicken with the sauce until well coated.
  12. Serve warm.
