Ingredients
- 1 kg beef loin
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup fresh orange juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons halal soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Pat the beef loin dry and season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and sear the beef on all sides until browned.
- Remove the beef and reduce heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Pour in orange juice, honey, soy sauce, mustard, and orange zest. Stir to combine.
- Return the beef to the skillet and spoon sauce over it.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and roast for 40–50 minutes, basting every 15 minutes.
- Remove the beef and let it rest on a serving plate.
- Mix cornstarch with water and add to the skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Slice the beef and drizzle the thickened orange glaze over the top before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh orange juice for the best flavor.
- Baste regularly during roasting to keep the meat juicy.
- Let the meat rest before slicing to retain juices.
- Adjust sweetness by reducing honey if desired.
- Can substitute beef with lamb or chicken for variation.
- Add chili flakes for a spicy kick.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
