Ingredients
- For the burgers:
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 4 brioche buns, toasted
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 4 slices cooked beef strips
- 1 cup hash browns or crispy shredded potatoes
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- For the spicy mayo:
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- Optional toppings:
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Red onion slices
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, hot sauce, and Dijon mustard until smooth to make the spicy mayo. Set aside.
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape into burger patties. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for 3 to 4 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
- During the final minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
- In another skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and cook the eggs sunny-side up until the whites are set and the yolks remain runny.
- Cook the hash browns or shredded potatoes until golden brown and crispy.
- Lightly toast the brioche buns until warm and golden.
- Spread spicy mayo on the bottom buns.
- Add lettuce and tomato if desired, then place the cheeseburger patty on top.
- Layer the crispy beef strips, hash browns, and fried egg over the burger.
- Top with red onion slices and the top bun.
- Serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- Use an 80/20 ground beef blend for the juiciest burgers.
- Frozen hash browns work well and crisp nicely in a skillet or air fryer.
- Prepare fresh eggs just before serving for the best texture.
- Reduce the hot sauce in the mayo for a milder flavor.
- Grilling the patties adds extra smoky flavor.
- Serve with fries, onion rings, or coleslaw for a complete meal.
