Ingredients

  • 24 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C (325°F) and line a springform pan.
  2. Beat cream cheese until smooth, add sugar, lemon juice, eggs (one at a time), vanilla, and sour cream until combined.
  3. Pour into pan and bake for 50–60 minutes until set. Cool completely and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  4. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease two cake pans.
  5. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in one bowl.
  6. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla, then alternate adding dry ingredients and milk.
  7. Divide batter into pans and bake 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.
  8. Cook strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice until thickened. Cool.
  9. Place one cake layer on a plate, spread strawberry filling, then add cheesecake layer.
  10. Add more strawberry filling and top with second cake layer.
  11. Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla to stiff peaks.
  12. Frost the cake and decorate with fresh strawberries.
  13. Chill before serving.
