Refreshing homemade dirty sodas made with fizzy soda, flavored syrups, creamy add-ins, and ice for fun café-style drinks that are easy to customize and perfect for parties or quick treats.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 drink

Ingredients

  • 7.5 ounces soda of choice (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, or orange soda)
  • 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons flavored syrup of choice
  • 1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons vanilla or coconut syrup if desired
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons half-and-half, coconut cream, or non-dairy creamer
  • 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lime juice (optional depending on flavor)
  • 1 cup nugget ice or regular ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Fill a tall glass with nugget ice or regular ice cubes.
  2. Slowly pour the chilled soda over the ice.
  3. Add your chosen flavored syrups directly into the soda.
  4. If using lime juice, add it at this stage.
  5. Pour in the half-and-half, coconut cream, or non-dairy creamer last.
  6. Stir gently until creamy swirls form throughout the drink.
  7. Serve immediately while cold and fizzy.

Notes

  • Nugget ice creates the best soda shop texture.
  • Use chilled soda for maximum carbonation and freshness.
  • Dirty sodas are best served immediately after mixing.
  • Dairy-free creamers like oat or coconut creamer work well.
  • Fruit syrups, vanilla syrup, coconut syrup, and caramel syrup are popular flavor choices.
  • For a lower-sugar option, use sugar-free soda and syrups.
  • Fresh fruit can be added for extra flavor and presentation.
  • Avoid storing mixed dirty sodas because the carbonation fades quickly.
